Boundaries

While there are many amazing sources of information online, when it comes to healing and mental health it’s so important to use discernment. There are many subtle (and not so subtle) marketing tactics these days and mental health continues to grow in popularity because businesses and the increasing number of life coaches are able to easily capitalize on other’s vulnerabilities.

Meeting a therapist in person is incredibly beneficial, but I’ve also found it helpful to seek information outside of therapy from real therapists and Doctors who’s primary goal is to help others. Overtime I’ve found it important to pay close attention to whether their words and actions align and whether they resonate with me.

As I’ve continued to learn about and practice setting boundaries, last year I came across a licensed marriage and family therapist from California who’s content resonated right away. Her name is Kristin Snowden and she can be found on YouTube and through her own website – www.KristinSnowden.com.

In one of her videos she had a link to a Healthy vs. Unhealthy Boundaries chart which I printed and put on the fridge so both my kids and I could reference it. Based on her content, I’ve created a PDF of this chart which you can download here:
